"Heh, sorry about that! I just was excited about getting us there as soon as I could!"

Luz hopped off the staff once they arrived, extending her hand for Sakura to do the same, and then extending her arm so Stringbean could glide up to her shoulder and perch for a moment.

"Ok, we're here now! What do you want to do first?"

Pfft!

Taking Luz’s hand, she would step down from their ride and looked around.

“Ah… would you mind sparring first? Unless you had something else in mind?”

"Ah, you wanted to get started with that already? All right."

Luz was already looking for a good spot for the two of them, making sure her knapsack was tucked away in safe place, and establishing a square for them to spar in. She then used her glyph magic to fashion up four ice poles at each corner.

"Now that we have a zone established, how do you want to spar? Fists, or weapons?"

“Ha, like I said, it would be nice to spar, then cool off with time in the water!” Sakura said.

With the ring set up, she would set away her gear.

“Fists. I need to understand my limits and what I need to improve on.”

And she has a surprise in store.

Luz nodded. All right. Easy enough. She might still be working on her sparring than her weapon to weapon, but she could certainly spar now. She stripped down to her V neck undershirt, wrapping her fists up a bit. At this point Sakura is certain to see Luz's work at the farm paying off: there's a hardness to her chest that is the whispers of a six pack in development, and her muscle game in her arms has gotten fairly impressive.

Luz got into an offensive stance, watching her opponent. "Ok. Ready."

Sakura did look impressed at Luz’s looks. She was certainly a bit hardened and she was certainly stronger.

Dropping into a fighting stance, Sakura nodded and ran at Luz, aiming to throw a punch at her chest.

Ah. So she was going for a first punch. Okay.

Luz had learned a fair bit with fist fighting, first from Nina and then from Eren. There were a variety of ways to deal with this first attack, but Luz went for a more defensive way.

She moved quick enough to be out of the way and then used her feet to trip up Sakura, then shifted herself to still be in stance.

Sakura yelped as she went down, but she would use the momentum to try and trip up Luz before pushing herself up.

Luz danced right out of the way, though it did take a slight moment for her to regain her balance again.

"Whoa, you are fast at recovery! But that makes sense: you're going to be a ninja, right?"

"Uh-huh. And I can't slouch here. Not after what we went through." Sakura said.

"I hear you. I've been upping my magic training more. I'd have done the same with my swordsmanship but...Corrin is gone."

Which hurt because she'd been here a while, and had helped Luz a LOT. She hadn't heard from Vaggie either, so she was pretty sure that the older angel might have also been brought back home.

"I'm sorry. I wish I could help there, but swordplay isn't my thing..." Sakura admitted. "Best to do what we have now."

And she goes to throw a kick this time.

"No, I know. I'll have to do that on my own. And I still have my magic to think about."

And back to their battle! She dances back but manages to get a little of the kick, so she does reel back a little.

"Oh, got one. Ok."

Luz moved back slightly, and now she came at Sakura with a a few punches of her own, controlled but still pretty hard hitting.

Sakura blocks a few of the punches, but one slips past, striking her in the chest. Oh, they are strong.

"Heh, got me, too."

And she'll throw a few punches, these a little more stronger.

Luz figured she'd be blocking the punches: Sakura was a ninja, she knew how to take care of herself.

Luz was going full on into spar mode though. She got hit a few more times, but bounced back and started putting more weight into her punches now, hitting more like Eren had taught her, which was pretty hard.

And as Luz picked up the pace and got rougher, so did Sakura, keeping up with Luz the best she can. There's only so much she can go before she'll have to use the "big guns".

Luz has no idea what would be Sakura's big guns, but for right now Luz is using what she's learned from her sparring matches. She's taking some of the hits, but is hitting back, learning by now how much her training with Eren prepared her for getting hit.

Sakura needs some breathing room. There’s a quick hand motion…

And Luz will watch as Sakura disappear in a cloud of smoke, replaced with her dress.

"WHOA."

Luz had to stop a moment and admire the look.

"You look great! Did you just want to try on a new outfit while fighting?"

Sakura giggled a bit before she shook her head.

“More than that. I got back my abilities!”

A few more hand signs, and now there were two copies of Sakura

"No way!"

Luz is impressed, but had no intention of letting that get the best of her! If she wanted to throw out clones, Luz was going to have to use glyphs!

Luz reached into her shirt and threw down her glyphs, tapping one and concentrating on the Sakura she was fighting. The glyph pulled out thorny vines for Sakura's clones to be ensnared by, while Luz now came at Sakura full throttle, throwing the kind of punches that Eren had taught her to deliver, a force enough to break noses (not that Luz was aiming for that right now).

Sakura was surprised at Luz’s counter, once more evening the playing field. With her punches coming in stronger now, Sakura decided to do the same, focusing her chakra to her fists to deliver the same force.

Yeah, that was what Luz had been hoping for! She knew that Sakura was holding back a bit, and Sakura had seemed to sense she'd been doing the same. Now they were just duking it out fist to fist, and it was here that Luz DID do some kicks, so Sakura got to feel exactly how much a girl who's leg muscles had to be built to fly properly and carry animal feed felt like.

If Sakura wanted to protect her friends, she couldn’t hold back! Her fists and feet flew to block Luz’s attacks and counter back. If she could get in closer, she could grab her by the shirt and throw her…

Luz watched Sakura, seeing how she was trying to get her to lure closer. Right. That made sense. Sakura would expect that she would do it too, since she was a little taller and likely to think she could capitalize on Sakura. But Luz also knew her stamina, and where her strengths lay in that regard.

Luz opted to keep Sakura at bay, going for pointed kicks, rearing back enough when the girl attempted to press her and then going for well aimed hits that kept Sakura at arm's length.
